Glass is used more and more in modern architecture. Since many years façades and roofs are made out of glass. But complex glass façade and overhead glazing bear an increased risk
of danger due to glass breakage.
Defect glass panes fall down from considerable heights and damage may occur. Glass defects like edge cracks or conchoidal fractures are the cause. If such glass defects are
detected in time, the damaged glass panes can be changed before they do any damage.

TILSECURE® is a compound security glass with built-in multi functional sensor technology which allows an early detection of any glass damage. The integrated
piezo sensors permanently measure the state of the panes. The data is evaluated continuously. Already small glass defects can be detected and are passed over to the connected
management utilities or alarm systems.
In addition to the detection of glass defects, the TILSECURE® sensors can measure temperature and light intensity. The data is passed over to the
facility management systems in order to regulate the heating and air conditioning systems as well as any sun protection systems. The measurement is made locally for each
pane and thus allows to regulate the air conditioning in an optimal way, for example by a controlled opening of any ventilation flaps or a shut down of a jalousie.
